The Legion Veterans Village Research Foundation is a registered charitable organization established in 2022 to support and fund research on how to improve the lives of veterans, first responders, and their families. The organization is actively recruiting new members to enhance the Board of Directors. Join our Community Programs Team! Our team is helping to ensure seniors in the community are safe and have access to groceries and other essential items.
Our Pine Villa transitional care unit is looking for volunteers with hair cutting skills who are willing to donate their services to seniors living in our transitional care facility. The timing is flexible; however, volunteers would be needed on a monthly basis for around 3 to 4 hours a month (in the morning or afternoon). Volunteers will bring their own haircutting equipment.
We’re on the lookout for passionate volunteers to join us in assisting seniors and older adults with their tax returns. To step into this role, volunteers will need to register for the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check from the police service.
In support of our homebuilding activity, we operate retail home improvement stores call Habitat ReStore. Our 10 locations sell new and used donated home furnishings, appliance and renovation materials to the public at a fraction of the original price. Revenue generated through ReStore sales help cover the cost to build homes for future Habitat homeowners.
