Our Mission: To promote programs of research, advocacy, education, support, and awareness in order to discover treatments and a cure for polycystic kidney disease and improve the lives of all it affects.
Job: Full-time. Salary commensurate with experience, education, and qualification ($75,000+ per year)

The Role
As the Executive Director of the PKD Foundation of Canada, you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the future of our organization. This challenging and rewarding position requires a dynamic individual who can provide visionary leadership, oversee daily operations, cultivate strong public relations, and drive strategic planning and policy development. You will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team, alongside the Board of Directors, and make a significant impact on the fight against polycystic kidney disease.
Leadership and Innovation:
- Provide visionary leadership on behalf of the Board of Directors, guiding the Foundation toward its mission and goals.
- Promote a culture of innovation and adaptability within the Foundation, encouraging creative solutions to challenges and the continuous improvement of programs and services.
Operation Planning and Management:
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of staff and the Foundation as a whole.
- Develop and execute operational strategies to ensure the efficient functioning of the Foundation.
Public Relations:
- Serve as the primary representative of the Foundation, fostering relationships with stakeholders, donors, and the wider community.
- Enhance the public image and visibility of the PKD Foundation of Canada through effective communication and engagement.
Strategic Planning and Policy Development:
- Lead the development of comprehensive strategic plans and policies in collaboration with staff and the Board of Directors.
- Ensure that these plans and policies align with the organization's mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
Qualifications/Experience
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a leadership capacity. Ideally for a not-for-profit charity or in the healthcare sector
- A business or communications degree, or equivalent work experience; additional training and/or certification in non-profit management is a plus.
- A deep understanding of strategic planning and policy development processes.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen ability to represent the Foundation effectively.
- Proficiency in organizational management, including staff leadership, board director relations and team building.
