Salary positing is on the established grid and is pro-rated to Canopy’s fiscal year, $29.46 to $38.77 per hour or ($53,616.97 to $70,556.27 annually)

What We Will Ask of You: As a key member of our Autism Services OAP Urgent Response Services (URS) team, our Behaviour Consultant (BC) plays an important role.  On most days you’ll be providing and overseeing ABA-based services within the URS framework to children/youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor, the BC supports with the preparation of all relevant documents, including but not limited to session notes, urgent response service plans, and safety plans.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide and oversee ABA-based services within the Urgent Response Services (URS) framework to children/youth with ASD.

  • Deliver evidence-based behavioural services, caregiver and mediator training and/or education, time-limited case coordination and consultation including; conducting assessment activities, designing data collection protocols and interpreting data to make data-based decisions within the URS framework, and collaborating with other service providers.

  • Provide implementation support for behaviour plans/service plans during a family’s involvement with URS.

  • Design and facilitate training and coaching for parents and professionals regarding implementation of ABA-based strategies.

  • Support the Clinical Supervisor in the preparation of all relevant documents, including but not limited to session notes, urgent response service plans, and safety plans.

  • Research and analysis of best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Science or equivalent.

  • Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)/Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) qualifications or ability to obtain BCBA/BCaBA qualifications is an asset.

  • 3+ years of experience working with the ASD population; short-term consultation, experience in development and implementation of ABA evidence-based programming.

  • Experience in consultation, supporting mental health and caseload management is considered an asset.

  • Extensive knowledge of developmental sector services, OAP guidelines, community resources, mental health services and Advocacy and Social Action for People with Disabilities Act 2008.

  • Valid G-Class driver’s license for the Province of Ontario, access to reliable transportation and have valid proof of automobile insurance with driving for business purposes and a minimum liability of two million dollars.
