Bookkeeper – Part-Time
A-Way Express is a social enterprise that provides courier services throughout Toronto. Funded by the Ministry of Health, for 37 years we have offered a supportive work environment for people with lived experience of mental illness.
You enjoy working independently and are comfortable performing a variety of specialized and complex tasks associated with processing and analyzing accounting transactions. Improving accounting processes and advising management come naturally to you.
Responsibilities include:
- Bank, credit card and petty cash reconciliations
- Accounts receivable including invoicing
- Accounts payable
- Payroll entry and administration (T4 Reconciliation, source deduction, payroll remittance, ROE, WSIB, EHT etc.)
- HST rebate application and HST return
- Fixed asset and depreciation schedule
- Chart of Accounts
- Journal entries
- Other ad hoc tasks
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- Non-profit accounting experience preferred
- Highly proficient with QuickBooks desktop, including Payroll and budget modules.
- Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
