Strides Toronto is a multi-service agency providing a wide range of exceptional programs and services that improve the mental, social and physical health of infants, children and youth from the pre-natal stage to age 29, and their families.   With a range of community, residential and treatment services our work helps to strengthen social and emotional well-being for culturally diverse clients to reach their full potential.  We provide individual, group and family interventions that include mental health counselling, autism services, education, outreach and referral, early intervention, day treatment and community support. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager, Information Technology is a full-time permanent position maintains the continuous operations of the Organization’s IT Helpdesk and Support Services and ensures smooth execution of IT Services for the organization. The Manager, Information Technology, will also provide technical direction on IT software, hardware, database applications, telephone systems and telco services and other IT related services.

Salary Range: $78,248.00 – $91,122.00 per annum.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide direction, guidance, and support to staff. Manage consultants and outsource services. Recruit and hire staff and establish work goals and objectives for the team. Conduct reviews and performance evaluations.
  • Provide continuous learning opportunities to staff and equip the team to adapt to change and provide quality support services to staff.
  • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, hardware, and telephone systems.
  • Ensure the day-to-day operations of the IT related function, including timely help desk support to staff within the organizations’ IT Service Management goals.
  • Implement the latest technologies within the Organization’s IT systems and ensure best practices are integrated into the IT systems.
  • Review, validate and assist with the negotiation of content and pricing of vendor proposals and quotations as part of the IT procurement. Ensure compliance with the Organization’s procurement policies.
  • Prepare cost-benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best possible service and value for business needs.
  • Ensure work is carried out in a safe and productive manner and staff are properly trained and protected from unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure smooth operation of Treat application, and Client Information System and assisting services/ operations in processing quarterly BI submissions as the Lead Agency.
  • Assist users and stakeholders in extracting information required by MOH, examining the quality of reports and resolving any errors and exceptions.

 

THE “MUST HAVES”

The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

  • Knowledge acquired through professional development in a relative discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems). 
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Experience in Information Management systems, networks, telecommunication systems, internet, intranet systems and help desk support function.
  • Experience in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Ability to use Office Technology, Software and Applications.
  • Knowledge of platforms, software and databases such as ADP, Sage, TREAT, OCEAN, and other application software or systems of the organization.
  • Navigating the organization and interacting with staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of the strategic planning objectives, strategic objectives, policies and procedures, guidelines, standards and organization of Strides Toronto and the various departments
  • Awareness of the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position.
  • An understanding of Anti-Black Racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health when working with clients and their families. 
  • Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of and imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts for the client.

 

THE ‘NICE TO HAVES’

While not required, preference will be given to candidates with the following: 

  • Knowledge of the cultural diversity of communities served by the organization.
  • Industry Certifications such as Cisco, Microsoft, etc. would be an asset.
  • Other certifications such as ITIL, Project Management (e.g., PMP or Prince2), or Quality (e.g., Six Sigma) would be an asset.
  • Fluency in another language(s), including sign language.
