The Opportunity
Are you comfortable meeting donors, building relationships, and discovering ways to continue and grow their generous gifts? Does the idea of cultivating and stewarding our major gift donors excite you? Do you have 3-5 years of experience in major gifts and the not-for-profit sector? The Development Officer, Principal Giving will be responsible for the development of their annual major gift portfolio through prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift donors. The incumbent will work to retain and increase the level of giving with current donors, as well as seek to attract new major gifts.
You may come into contact with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
