Position Description

The Specialist, Research and Analytics will assist with developing and delivering on data analytics and market research. This role will support the design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and management of data across the organization to draw conclusions, make predictions, provide recommendations, and drive informed decision-making as it relates to marketing, fundraising and community action.

The Specialist will work closely with the Senior Specialist, Analytics and with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of insights, reporting and research that support and build WWF-Canada’s supporter base.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage internal and external market research through the survey development lifecycle and secondary resources, i.e., field requests, under the guidance of the Senior Specialist develop experimental designs, implementation plans, and report back with key learnings.
  • Gather and distribute quantitative and qualitative analysis on brand intelligence, marketing metrics, industry trends and other insights to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use analytics and data storytelling to help various internal departments find solutions to drive strategic growth across the organization as it relates to fundraising, marketing and community action (e.g. existing donor growth, acquisition, conversions, retention and stewardship).
  • Lead recruitment, cultivation, and stewardship of WWF-Canada’s market insights community to inform its business decisions.
  • Support the exploration and implementation of new and innovative marketing and/or fundraising solutions.
  • Manage relationships with various vendors, including conducting exploratory meetings, and onboarding/updating tools, platforms and various technologies.

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 4+ years of related work experience in analytics, research, marketing, behavioral and social science.
  • Post-secondary education in data analytics, business, communications, environment or similar OR 2+ years of related work experience
  • Technical proficiency in using analysis and data visualization tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R and/or Power BI.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience using Power BI an asset.
  • Working knowledge in conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as collecting brand intelligence, performance metrics and industry trends from primary and/or secondary sources.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities coupled with an outcome, delivery-oriented approach.
  • Proven leadership, project, and community management experience, including cultivating research communities, planning and scheduling research activities based on organizational priorities. 
  • Fundamental understanding of marketing strategy, digital marketing and integrated branding in relation to non-for-profit sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; an effective and respectful communicator who can achieve the desired results by encouraging and supporting the contributions of others.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience managing external partners.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written, visual and verbal communications skills.
  • Familiarity with First Nations Principles of OCAP, BC First Nations Data Governance Initiative, or other similar data sovereignty guidelines an asset.

Other Information

  • This is a hybrid work from home/work from office role that can be based out of any WWF-Canada office – Toronto, Montréal, Ottawa, Victoria, St. John's, or Iqaluit. Or the role can be based in Thunder Bay, ON, or Saint John, NB.
