ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE
As a registered charity in Surrey and the Lower Mainland with a 45+ year history, DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society, helps newcomers and other diverse communities build the life they want in Canada. DIVERSEcity offers free, multilingual programs and services in settlement, language, employment, community engagement and mental health to provide community members with information, skills and connections for their journey toward success and belonging. DIVERSEcity provides these services across 40+ federal and provincial government contracts, corporate sponsorships, grants, and social enterprises.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a crucial member of the DIVERSEcity Executive Leadership Team (ELT), with a key role in ensuring the achievement of DIVERSEcity’s vision and strategic plan. The CFO is responsible for shaping the organization’s financial vision and providing leadership to develop and execute effective financial management strategies. This includes ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements, addressing the unique challenges, and modernizing our financial processes to enhance flexibility and agility. In addition, the CFO serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the newly applied DIVERSEcity Foundation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven finance professional in the nonprofit sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in related progressive financial leadership, including five (5) years at the Director level. The successful candidate will also hold a CPA professional designation. The ideal candidate will have a demonstratable track record of leadership and department management along with a track record of successful business development, including contributing to business and financial planning initiatives, financial strategy development, and management of a multi-contract business entity within a competitive procurement landscape.
The salary for this position is $160,000 – 180,000 supplemented by a competitive total compensation package.
