POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Program Director, the Advanced Practice and Training Coordinator will promote a high quality of member and tenant care through coaching, training and modelling for our staff. The Advanced Practice Coordinator supports practice and care excellence by designing and implementing educational programs and processes that enable staff to deliver safe, excellent member-centred care.
The Advanced Practice and Training Coordinator provides leadership to ensure member and staff safety practices are maintained, engages staff in the use of evidence-based best practices, and promotes a culture of continuous practice improvement. The role assures the development and maintenance of integrated practice competency by identifying learning and practice development needs for direct care providers. The Advanced Practice and Training Coordinator shares responsibility with the Management for ensuring mandatory education is provided, and staff are provided with clinical supervision and guidance on best practices in their day-to-day work. The Advanced Practice and Training Coordinator also promotes staff's professional growth, encourages innovative contributions, and coaches team members in critical thinking and complex clinical scenarios.
Responsibilities
As guided by the Executive Program Director:

Collaboratively develop and implement an agency-wide plan to establish best practices and standards of care for each program;

Develop an agency-wide training plan for established care standards;

Leader in best practices and improving the quality of care across all PARC programs using advanced knowledge in anti-oppression practice, clinical experience and care planning;

Enhance program staff approaches to practice through 1:1 coaching, developing and facilitating training sessions, and practice development;

Promote, goal-orientated care focused on achieving the healthiest outcome for members and promoting independence;

Be a coach and mentor to staff to foster a trusting relationship to build capacity within PARC staff thought collaboratively with front-line staff to disseminate and collect information on emerging best practices;

Consult on care plans for highly complex individuals using programs within the agency, providing support and assisting with communicating care plans for clients who are using multiple services/programs to ensure coordination of care across departments;

Support high conflict and high-risk assessments and interventions with front line staff, collaboratively finding approaches that maximize safety, quality care and best practices;

Working collaboratively with program managers to support front line workers in reflective practice and care plan design and management;

Attending Team meetings to provide resources and support to front line staff

Identifying and Coordinating training opportunities and deficits in respect to best practices, to improve consistency in agency support approaches and Data entry- Pirouette etc;

Maintains effective working relationships with community partners, services and government agencies;

Prepares for and actively participates in weekly team meetings, supervision meetings, agency staff meetings and agency in-service activities;

Participates, in consultation with the Director of Housing and Outreach, in program development, work planning and evaluation;

Engages in reflective practice, and is aware of systemic oppression and one's own social location;

Attends monthly supervision, utilizes agency provided supports to mitigate the risk of vicarious trauma, burnout, and transference that can be detrimental to member care;

Practices self-care and models a commitment to personal positive mental health strategies;
-
Cooperates and participates with health and safety legislation and instructions for a safe and healthy workspace;

Ensures confidentiality is maintained on all clients;
-
Maintains timely and thorough case notes, records and complete reporting required by funders and supervisor;

Qualifications:

Essential: 10+ years experience within the field and a masters level education in a helping profession as it relates to mental health practice

Essential: Eligible for membership as a clinical supervisor with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (MSW, MA, Nursing, OTs, etc. can be eligible with sufficient hours of practice and proof of training in clinical supervision)

Essential: Training and experience in providing clinical supervision and coaching

Essential: Evidence of commitment to ongoing lifelong learning and adopting newly evolving best practices

Asset: Use of innovative educational modalities, such as simulation and eLearning
-
Essential: Sound change leadership and project management skills including identifying and tracking statistical outcome measures.

Essential: Minimum 5 years current clinical and leadership experience in mental health required.

Essential: Experience with community mental health programs and care modalities.

Asset: Working knowledge of clinical/administrative computer software.

Asset: Membership and active involvement in related professional organizations.

Essential: Good work and attendance record required.

Essential: Comprehensive knowledge of social justice issues presented by psychiatric survivors and marginalized people who have been homeless or under-housed;
-
Essential: Sound knowledge of adult education theory and experience in designing, delivering and evaluating educational programs.

Asset: Lived experience and identification as someone with lived experience of the mental health and addictions systems preferred.

Asset: A commitment to anti-oppressive practise, reflective practice and critical engagement and analysis of systemic barriers and oppression facing our clients;
