Summary

Join a dynamic group of health care professionals providing a full spectrum of primary health care in a community health centre located in downtown Ottawa.  Work with a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, registered dietitians, diabetes educators, chiropodists, social workers and other health care professionals.  Our medical clinic offers excellent nursing and administrative support, well equipped exam rooms, a collaborative and supportive work environment, an electronic health record,  and the opportunity to teach medical students and family medicine residents.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and family medicine residency.
  • CCFP Certification from the Canadian College of Family Practice or equivalent general practice experience.
  • License to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Minimum of two years experience in family practice or primary care experience with community health centre populations.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to community-based health care.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with computer systems, in particular Windows based e-mail and experience using an electronic health record.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with diverse populations applying a health equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression lens.
  • Skills in working with people across the lifespan and people with complex medical issues.
  • Skills in working with people with mental health and addictions issues.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and in an inter-disciplinary team.
  • Interest and/or experience in supervising and working with medical learners
  • Ability to work occasional evenings

Desirable

  • CHC experience
  • Experience with PS Suite and/or other electronic client record
  • Ability to communicate in French is preferred
  • Ability to communicate in another language an asset (e.g. Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Somali, etc.)
