Position Title: Manager, Employment Services
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Program Operations and Service Delivery
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Duration: This is a full-time position until March 31, 2024, with the possibility of an extension depending on funding renewal.
Salary: CAD $68000- CAD $75000 (The salary range depends on the candidate's experience)

Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Program Operations and Service Delivery, the Manager, Employment Services develops and administers the Agency’s employment service projects. This program is designed to assist unemployed individuals in their career development journey.

About the Role
In our organization, the Manager, Employment Services administers the day-to-day operations of the agency’s employment service programs. Funded by Employment Ontario, this initiative assists unemployed individuals in their job search efforts, and helps employers with their recruiting needs. The Manager, Employment Services supervises the key components of the EO Programs delivery model including client service planning & coordination, resource and information activity, job search, job matching and placement, and job mentoring. A focused client centered approach is essential for the success of an individual in this position. The Manager, Employment Services, plays a hands-on role including the direct supervision of the Employment Ontario-Employment Services, Youth Job Connection, Youth Job Connection-Summer, and Canada Ontario Job Grant programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Implements and manages the Employment Ontario (EO) Service model, which includes the ES, YJC, YJCS and COJG programs
- Manages departmental staff
- Manages client service data collection and reporting systems
- Participates in decision-making processes including policies and procedures development
- Links with external employment service providers and partner organizations
- Ensures staff compliance with the Funder and Agency’s policies and procedures
- Plans and conducts outreach to employers to identify opportunities and prompt job matching and placement support
- Provides employers with employment regulations training, workplace safety training and information on AODA accommodation needs
- Trains and supervises staff about negotiation of employment opportunities on behalf of clients, including allocation of incentives, placement agreements and contracts with individual and employer clients
- Approves contracts with employers, including the timely processing and payment of financial incentives
- Supervises the delivery of career exploration initiatives which include the identification of interests, abilities, skills, education and experience in relation to short- and long-term career and employment goals in a group or individual settings
- Provides professional development coaching to all roles in the department
- Provides guidance to staff about mentoring and coaching during the job search process
- Provides guidance to staff about financial supports for individual clients
- Other duties as assigned

- Committed to the attainment of program targets and outcomes as defined by the EO Programs contractual commitments.
- Able to attend managerial meetings as requested by higher management.
- Able to take an active role in the development of new policies and procedures.
- Able to participate on committees as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in career coaching and job search strategies. including at least 2 years of supervisory level responsibility for a broad range of functions in a unionized environment.
- Superior staff management and time management skills.
- More staff leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of the employment service programs guidelines.
- Ability to supervise the administration of level B tests/psychological instruments, Personality Dimensions, and Life Skills Certification would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups – including adults, youth, and newcomer women. Racialized people and/ or other groups with special needs
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Results-oriented, highly organized, flexible, and adaptable to change
- Additional language(s) an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and r access to a vehicle are required.
- Digital Literacy – proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and data base usage.
- Ability to work in person 5 days per week.
- Familiarity with virtual work platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills.
