Strong Start® Charitable Organization is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our team and make a difference in young lives. Our charitable organization is committed to empowering children with the fundamental skill of reading, unlocking doors to a brighter future.
As the Marketing & Communications Specialist, you'll be the voice that shares our impactful stories with donors, partners, communities, and advocates. Your role will be instrumental in crafting and executing strategies to expand Strong Start's reach across Ontario, positively impacting more young learners.
Responsibilities Overview:
- Collaborate with the Director of Development & Communications to develop and advance integrated marketing strategies across digital and traditional platforms.
- Craft compelling content for our website, social media, emails, and print materials, highlighting success stories and impact.
- Produce captivating videos to engage diverse audiences, utilizing storytelling and visual media.
- Manage Strong Start's online presence, ensuring brand consistency and impactful messaging.
- Execute digital campaigns, leverage SEO, and drive social media growth and engagement.
- Foster media relations, securing coverage, and enhancing our outreach efforts.
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:
- University or College degree/diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
- Proven experience in Marketing/Communications, ideally within charitable organizations.
- Proficiency in SEO, social media platforms, analytics, and multimedia content creation.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and digital marketing tools including:
- Expertise using WordPress, Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (including Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) would be an asset.
- Hootsuite Platform Certification would be an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to lift 30 lbs.
- A Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check will be requested if an offer of employment is extended. An entry on a criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check will not necessarily prevent a candidate from obtaining employment and would be reviewed as per Strong Start's Record Check Policy.
