The Government of Canada launched a Call for Proposals under the Supporting Black Canadian Communities Initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to strengthen the capacity of Black-led and Black-serving community-based organizations throughout Canada. Black-led registered nonprofits serving the Black community are eligible to apply for up to $105,000 in funding. The funding is available in two streams: Capital Assistance and Capacity Building, to help Black-led organizations increase their organizational capacity and improve their workplaces and community spaces.

The deadline for the call for proposals is December 15, 2023, at 11:59 EST.  Projects selected for the initiative will be announced in the first half of 2024.
