Applications are now open for crew positions on Hamilton Theatre Inc.'s upcoming Winter Production of SEUSSICAL. Help bring the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss to life!

The Choreographer is responsible for creating dance and movement routines for the performance. Before creating a new routine, the Choreographer will meet with the Stage Director to discuss their vision of the production to complement the story.

After the routine is created, the Choreographer teaches the steps to the performers at rehearsals and helps them perfect the movements, technique and timing. During rehearsals, the Choreographer might make changes to the routine and then instruct the performers in performing the altered routine.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Is present for auditions with the rest of the production team
  • Is present for all scheduled dance rehearsals, performance runs and tech week
  • Works with the Director, Musical Director, Stage Manager and Producer to arrange the rehearsal schedule
  • Works with the Musical Director to see if there are any differences between cast recordings and musical arrangements
  • Works with the Stage Manager and Musical Director to schedule the rehearsal pianist for dance rehearsals (if needed)
  • Selects a Dance Captain from the cast to assist the Choreographer
