Summary
Description
Are you an experienced WordPress web developer with a passion for promoting sustainability and a strong connection to the natural world? You can make a significant impact by volunteering with Biosphere Eco-Cities Canada.
About Us:
Biosphere Eco-Cities Canada (BECC) is an organization dedicated to fostering sustainability in urban communities. Our Biosphere Eco-Cities (BECs) use innovative projects and information to engage people in sustainable practices. To support and expand our mission, we are actively seeking two to three talented WordPress Web Developers who share our vision.
What You'll Do:
As part of our web development team, you'll collaborate on key projects that enhance our digital presence and, by extension, our ability to engage and inform the public about sustainability.
Website Updates and Reviews: You will play a crucial role in updating and reviewing the national BECC website. This work will involve ensuring the website is a dynamic, informative platform for our audience. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of three local websites to further promote our mission within specific communities.
About Our Websites:
To gain an understanding of your role and the impact you can make, we encourage you to explore the following websites:
National BECC Website: https://bec-evb.ca
Linked Websites: Brampton.BEC-EVB.ca, Edmonton.BEC-EVB.ca, Vancouver.BEC-EVB.ca
Your Role:
While Ottawa and Toronto BECs have their own websites and may only need occasional advice, Brampton, Edmonton, and Vancouver BECs require the expertise of the BECC web development team to enhance their online presence. This includes formatting and adding content to these three sites.
Collaboration and Flexibility:
You'll collaborate with local volunteers in these three cities and the BECC national secretariat to determine priorities for development. Work will be conducted remotely, allowing for flexible time management and cooperation with staff and fellow volunteers.
Your Commitment:
The expected time commitment for these positions is 4-5 hours per week for a year. To excel in this role, you should have experience with WordPress, HTML, and CSS. Familiarity with cPanel is a plus.
Join Our Team:
To explore this exciting opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable future, please send a letter of interest or a resume to us. We'd be delighted to arrange an online interview at a time that suits your schedule.
By lending your skills to our web development efforts, you can help us effectively communicate the message of sustainability and further our mission in creating Biosphere Eco-Cities across Canada.
