Summary: Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre (BBNC) is a charitable, multi-service neighbourhood centre that offers a broad range of recreational, social and capacity-building programs to the southwest Scarborough community. We believe that the full inclusion of persons of different abilities and backgrounds enhances the quality of life for all, and invite our community to partner with us in building a more equitable and caring neighbourhood.

Description of Role: Support BBNC the social program for Older Adults by sharing your experience as a sewer and assisting community members in making dresses. This will provide diversity and a sense of community to the program. We encourage you to join us in creating memories for our members.

Duties: 

  • Engage with members sharing your skill, hobby or talent through interactive workshops, demonstrations, or presentations.
  • Inspire the community to explore their interests and create conversation
  • Foster connections and friendships within our community.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with older adults
  • Clear communication skills and ability to creatively engage a group in an interactive way
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and support the team
