Look Good Feel Better is an international program operating in 26 countries, all with the mission of ensuring- that all people facing all cancers are empowered through knowledge, support and confidence. We do this by helping individuals manage the appearance-related effects of cancer and its treatment so they can feel more like themselves again. Our Canadian programming, in over 100 hospitals and cancer centres and virtually, provides tools and techniques on skin care, loss of brows and lashes, navigating hair alternatives, cosmetic hygiene and overall wellness. More than just make-up, LGFB provides a safe place for connectivity and community for those facing similar challenges. With the help of over 1200 volunteers and its partners delivering compassionate care and expertise, we are advocates for self-care, optimizing mental health and well-being, and empowering the community.

Overview of Role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Programs & Ontario Region, the Regional Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the successful day-to-day operations of our workshops in Ontario while building awareness among key stakeholder groups and developing networks with the health and cancer communities in the region.
Primary Responsibilities:
Program Implementation
- Ensuring LGFB services and programs are meeting organizational standards through appropriate volunteer and site support.
- Coordinate the re-opening of in-person workshops as current restrictions are lifted, traveling to sites as required.
- Support the growth of the program by ensuring all relevant stakeholders are aware of the support offered to those with cancer and have resources to promote programs.
- Identify existing community resources and agencies to develop relationships to reach those living with cancer in the region
- Implement regional efforts to align with the marketing and communications strategy to increase brand and program awareness in the region.
- Support national, centralized promotional and stewardship initiatives targeting volunteers, host sites and referring hospitals as key stakeholder groups.
- Develop sustainable relationships with the regional oncology sector to increase awareness and increase medical community engagement
- Participate in projects as part of a task force as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams.
- Act as back up to other regions as required.
Volunteer Engagement & Management
- Recruit, train, recognize and coordinate regional volunteers as part of LGFB’s national volunteer framework
- Ensure regional volunteers are delivering program according to LGFB standards and following LGFB training, protocols and expectations.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Follow the annual regional plans within budget to support the delivery of the organizational strategic plan.
- Ensure all operational and financial policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Maintain regional data and reports on all regional activity and communicate as required.
- Actively participate and or/ contribute in meetings and other internal collaborations within LGFB
Qualification & Competencies
- University Degree or College equivalent in health promotion, communications, or social sciences
- 4+ years’ successful experience in a health-promotion, community-building and/or fundraising role
- Experience building and sustaining strong stakeholder relationships based upon listening, understanding and finding approaches which are mutually beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
- Superior organizational, administrative and time management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Passionate about sharing and advocating for supportive health care, empowering people and families, community programming and capacity-building.
- Active participant to ensure a positive organizational culture and mission as both a team player and individual contributor
- Comfortable using databases to track contacts and activities (ie: Salesforce).
- Bilingual in French considered an asset.
Considerations to note:
- Valid Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle with an ability to travel within the region is required
- Ability to work occasional nights/ weekends and manage light physical labour as required for activities or events
- LGFB staff are currently working in a hybrid model
- This role is currently assessed at 28 hours per week. We are able to offer flexibility in specific schedule within a Monday – Friday work week
