SUMMARY
The Jr. Officer, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) provides support to the team in assessing the impact of international development projects and preparing summaries of partner results that can be used as marketing material and feedback content for our Catalyste+ Advisors. Reporting to the Acting MEL Manager, the individual will gain hands-on experience in monitoring and evaluating projects funded by Global Affairs Canada, as well as the opportunity to expand their knowledge in various areas such as economic development, tourism & hospitality, gender equality, climate change, governance, food security, and others. The Jr. Officer MEL will also support tasks crucial for the efficiency of MEL processes, including entering data into our database system (QuickBase) and reviewing MEL forms.
This position is a 3-month contract, working 3 days per week (21 hours/wk). It is currently remote, with the possibility of working from the office in Toronto or Montreal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops monitoring questionnaires to track progress of Catalyste+ partners;

Develops results summaries of Catalyste+ partnerships;

Reviews MEL forms received from Catalyste+ Advisors and local partners;

Conducts data entry in QuickBase for specific assignments, as assigned by the Acting MEL Manager;

Participates in the development and review of MEL tools, impact stories, and other documents;
Other tasks as appropriate and to be determined based on the person’s interests and the organization’s needs.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong interest in international development

Good research, analytical and interpretive skills

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work

Ability to work independently and communicate well with remote-located colleagues

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an asset)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite
- Energetic and eager to tackle new challenges with creative ideas
