The Society provides care, comfort and compassion to animals in need in communities across Ontario; we value all animals and advocate to treat them with respect and kindness. Opportunity
Position: Reporting to the Associate Director, Communications, the Social Media Coordinator role works effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary Marketing & Communications team and will be responsible for ensuring that social media channels are optimized and aligned with Ontario SPCA brand standards. Working in collaboration with the other members of the Marketing and Communications team, this role will provide the execution of social media efforts across the province.
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Location: This role is eligible to participate in our flexible work policy and program
A Typical Day
- Monitor the Ontario SPCA provincial social media accounts
- Draft and Post content on the Ontario SPCA provincial and animal centre social media accounts
- Respond to comments and messages on the Ontario SPCA social media accounts
- Provide social media analytics from campaigns
- Create digital creative for social media platforms
- Assist other departments and animal centres in managing social media accounts

Do You Have What it Takes?
- Relevant college diploma or university degree or equivalent is preferred
- 1-3+ years relevant experience in social media marketing
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities on tight deadlines
- Proven customer service, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and copy-editing skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
- Pro-active, self-directed and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube platforms
- Knowledge of Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro)
- Knowledge of Canva
- Knowledge of Social Media content management software an asset
