As a natural supports provider, your role will be to develop a supportive relationship with a person who has an intellectual disability while doing an activity you both enjoy. We are looking for someone who: is friendly and personable; is mature and responsible; respects commitments; is open and willing to learn about intellectual disabilities. SPRINT Senior Care is looking for passionate volunteer to support the Meals on Wheels program in Midtown Toronto. Available shifts are on Wednesday or Thursday from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Three months commitment is required.
The Distress Centre of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville is a free, confidential and anonymous telephone support service, which provides a safe and comfortable space to reach someone in your time of need. Callers are treated with respect and empathy by the Distress Centre volunteers. The focus of the service is on listening, support and non-clinical short term crisis intervention.
Community Prevention Workers provide culturally grounded STBBI & harm reduction education, one-to-one service navigation supports, access to harm reduction supplies and STBBI testing, run drop-in programming and facilitate cultural workshops and educational groups for community. Community Prevention Workers report to the Team Lead with the following areas of responsibilities: Harm Reduction, Community, and Education Programs and Services; Testing, Treatment & Linkage to Care.

The Friends of May program offers support for older adults at AIDS Vancouver. Volunteers are matched with a senior with whom they can socialize and provide support with simple, day-to-day tasks.Friends of May is named after one of AIDS Vancouver’s longest standing volunteers, May McQueen. May volunteered with AIDS Vancouver for over 20 years and we are pleased to honour her contributions to our communities through the name of this program.
