About us:

For over 35 years, Viewpoints Research has conducted opinion research to offer our clients deeper insight and better advice than any other research company. Supported by our team of experts in quantitative research, data science, and qualitative methodology, we use the best tools to find the most rigorous answers.

We specialize in working with governments, public institutions, Crown corporations, professional associations and unions, and charitable and non-profit organizations. Our clients are dedicated to making life better for Canadians. We help them achieve it.

Our company is proudly owned and led by women. And our team members work with clients across Canada from our offices in Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. We are also a CRIC accredited agency.

About you:

You are curious and a good listener. You wonder why people think and act the way they do. You have experience with quantitative and qualitative research, you have led research projects from conception to completion, drafting surveys and discussion guides and other research instruments.

Your primary expertise is in social policy or public affairs research. You have strong analytical skills and data analysis, from designing research instruments to interpreting data and presenting it visually in an easily digestible format.  You are able to take complex information, synthesize it, and report on it in a written product that is clear, detailed, easy to understand and fun to read.

You are comfortable working both independently and in a team environment. You embrace feedback and have a constant desire to learn and improve.

You take pride in your work. You like to laugh — after all, work should be meaningful AND fun.

You want to change the world to make it fairer, and more just. And you want to work somewhere that wants that too.

  • Drafting survey instruments and discussion guides
  • Evaluating survey data and results and drafting reports on the survey findings
  • Formatting results and tables to ensure they are easy to read

  • Creating project schedules and workplans to ensure research reports are produced in a timely way
  • Assisting with the development, writing and design of proposals and RFP submissions

Skills:

You have:

  • A minimum 3-5 years of experience in the opinion research field.
  • An understanding of social science methodologies (quantitative and qualitative) or applied social science research, using data to inform decisions related to campaigns, communications, marketing, or public policy
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills: accurate, clear, effective, persuasive
  • Experience with data analysis and manipulating data sets
  • Experience in data visualization and an eye for accessible, visually appealing design
  • Experience working with unions and non-profit organizations working for change to make life better for people
  • Comfort with technology, and are open to searching and using new tools to improve your work
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with design software is an asset
