Dr. Wendy Cukier

Founder, The Diversity Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University 

Dr. Wendy Cukier is the Diversity Institute Founder, Academic Director of the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub and Research Lead of the Future Skills Centre. She is the co-author of the bestseller, Innovation Nation: Canadian Leadership from Java to Jurassic Park and former VP of Research and Innovation. The Diversity Institute has 100 research staff, 100 research associates from around the world, 200 industry partners and focuses on dimensions of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, future skills, and entrepreneurship and innovation. 

 

 

Trish Mandewo

President and CEO of Synergy Executive & Boards

Trish Mandewo is multi-award winning, experienced entrepreneur, board professional, politician, mentor, and author.  She is the President & CEO of Synergy Executive & Boards Consulting Group, a diversity-oriented executive & board recruitment and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization (EDID) consulting company located in Vancouver, British Columbia. With an impressive early career in microbiology & embryology followed by nearly 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship and governance. 

 

Chanel Grenaway 

CEO & Founder, Chanel Grenaway & Associates 

Chanel Grenaway has over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, and brings a range of expertise from working with Foundations, and multi-service non-profit organizations, specifically through an equity and inclusion lens. As the former Director of Economic Development at the Canadian Women’s Foundation, she managed multi-year projects aimed at poverty reduction through skills development, creating equitable access, processes and wrap around supports for underrepresented populations.

Josh Basile 

Community Relations Manager, AccessiBe

Meet Josh Basile a C4-5 quadriplegic, power wheelchair user, disability rights advocate, and lawyer. In 2004 at the age of 18, Josh was paralyzed below the shoulders in a beach accident. Soon after he formed a 501(c)3 nonprofit to empower newly injured families. He created the world’s largest paralysis video mentoring network on SPINALpedia.com with 24,000 videos searchable by physical functionality. As a medical malpractice lawyer and disabilities rights advocate, Josh serves persons with disabilities both in the courtroom and through policy initiatives. 

Jade Pichette (they/them)

Director of Programs, Pride at Work Canada

Jade Pichette (they/them) is an inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA!) professional based in Tkarón:to/Toronto. Currently, Jade serves as the Director of Programs at Pride at Work Canada, where they work with over 250 large employers across Canada around gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation inclusion. Previously, Jade served as the Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator at the ArQuives, the Education Programs Coordinator at Kind Space, and an independent inclusion consultant. 

Tim Fox

Vice President of Indigenous Relations & Equity Strategy, Calgary Foundation

Tim Fox is a proud member of the Kainai Blood Tribe within Siksikaitsitapi, the Blackfoot Confederacy. His family comes from the Ahkaipohkaaks, Many Children’s Clan. Tim currently lives and works in Mohkinstsis, Calgary. As Vice President of Indigenous Relations & Equity Strategy with Calgary Foundation, Tim supports the work of philanthropy while also facilitating an internal systems change approach. His efforts help to strengthen and enhance the culture and practice of the foundation while designing ways of mobilizing reconciliation internally and in the broader community. 

Kris Archie

CEO, The Circle on Philanthropy

Kris Archie is the Chief Executive Officer of The Circle on Philanthropy (The Circle). A Secwepemc and Seme7 woman from Ts’qescen, a mother, aunty and engaged community member. Kris is passionate about heart-based community work and facilitating positive change. In all of her roles, Kris works to transform philanthropy and contribute to positive change by creating spaces of shared learning, relationship-building and centering Indigenous wisdom. 

Jessie Williams 

Director of Business Development and Communications, New Relationship Trust

Jessie is a citizen of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). Leaning on wisdom gained from her lived experience, educational journey, professional practise, and elder teachings, she develops and delivers reconciliation and decolonization efforts that enhance Indigenous presence, voice, and capacity. Jessie achieves this by focusing on developing reciprocal and strategic partnerships across diverse sectors and industries that strengthen individual, community, and societal well-being.
