As a Community Shelter Worker, you would aid clients in their housing by assessing and supporting their needs, and adhering to the mission statement, policies, and procedures of Homes First Society.
We are currently seeking Weekend Relief Community Housing Workers for several sites. Weekend Relief Community Housing Workers work every other weekend, earning between $21.14 and $25.57 per hour plus 7% in lieu of benefits. Relief Community Shelter Workers on Weekend Contracts are also able to pick up additional shifts throughout the week, if they choose to do so.
Relief Community Housing Workers work on an as-needed basis, earning $22.62 (including 7% in lieu of benefits) per hour.
The successful candidate will have the ability to nurture strong and trusting relationships and help Member tenants to search for, and successfully secure, appropriate and affordable housing, build essential life skills, maintain long-term successful tenancy, and achieve an improved quality of life on their terms.
Reporting to the Executive Program Director, the Advanced Practice Coordinator will promote a high quality of member and tenant care through coaching, training and modelling for our staff. The Advanced Practice Coordinator supports professional practice and clinical care excellence by designing and implementing educational programs and clinical processes that enable staff to deliver safe, excellent member-centred care.
he RHW is responsible for the facilitation of life-skills workshops, responding to escalating situations when needed, applying and verbal de-escalation and crisis prevention techniques in defusing potentially volatile situations. The RHW will connect youth to support and resources to end homelessness by offering rental subsidies, emotional support, system navigation, coaching, and crisis support. This role will support youth to identify, activate, and enhance natural support in their lives.

Reporting to the Director of Transitional Housing, the Housing Manager will supervise staff and services at the House. This role will provide day-to-day supervision, mentoring and performance management to housing staff, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, customer service excellence, and continuous learning, while encouraging innovation, evaluating performance and leading staff development through motivation and training.
